This goodwill message is coming to you from a tiny piece of paradise
located in the
ancient Sea of Siam and voted the most desirable island destination on the planet.
Last year, Koh Samui welcomed over 1.2 million visitors - and many keep returning - especially those who book with OnlyInSamui.Com - the island's premier hospitality hosts. If you want a Koh Samui villa, a resort or a charter cruise, we have the widest selection on the island. And the reasons they keep coming back? They simply cannot get enough of the amazing laid-back way of life and the mind blowing human experiences they encounter each day they're here. But there is another compelling reason, and its to be found in the island's famous nickname: the Isle of Smiles:

When the locals make eye-contact they automatically show respect by giving you the world-famous
Wai . This typical Buddhist gesture - with hands clasped, a winning smile and a sprinkling of colourful words: Sawat DEE kah - can give you the goose bumps until you get used to it. It's highly contageous and soon you'll be wai-ing everyone you meet - and it's useful for just about everything like: Hello, Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening. But it also can mean other things like: Thank You - Goodbye or even Sorry! Confusing? Hey it's great, you'll love it!

Here is a map of Koh Samui that you can zoom onto or take a quick glance at these short videos of Samui's beach and street scenes (switch on sound if you have it). Come and explore the endless miles of deserted palm-fringed beaches here and enjoy perhaps the freshest and cleanest air on earth. The sea is most times a clear turquoise blue, making wreck and coral diving truly memorable experiences. Yet, in the rainy seasons, we do have sudden and sometimes heavy
downpours - which helps cool the island and by which means Mother Nature creates her lush
tapestry of flora: with orchids that seem to grow out of every nook and cranny, visited by butterflies as big as sparrows - an experience that makes you feel really good to be alive.
If you are first-time visitors with children, you'll be pleased to know that this quiet little backwater, located 9o degrees north of the equator, never experiences calamities such as typhoons, tsunamis or terrorism. Even the annual SE Asia monsoon thoughtfully skirts the island, and apart from a rare tornado that took a corrugated roof off a beach house last year, we think it's safer than living in the west! Not too long ago, the highest cause of accidental death on the island was from coconuts falling on people's heads - that's absolutely true! But if you want to know what causes the headaches nowadays, get a free unbiased reality check here.

Here also, you'll find another world-famous Thai innovation: the Thai head, foot or body massage. But here its actually done on the beach, with the waves lapping just a few feet away. The many beautiful and talented masseuses on Samui demonstrate their skills with you laying on a very functional sun-shrouded raised platform called a clare. The sides are open-sided with a see-through white mesh alluring to a touch of intimate privacy . . . more on Koh Samui . . .
